Excellent! Great start to engineering for our little ones! Directions were easy (for her) to follow. First she set it up where it only moved in circles but easily went back to the instructions and fixed it. Once its put together, its a blast to play with and the cat goes crazy
After a few months of use, my mBot stopped responding to its programming. I contacted customer support via email and was able to have them send out a new motherboard. The new electronics fixed everything and my mBot is working again. I greatly appreciate the dedication and responsiveness of MakeBlock's service team.
The difficulty level was a bit much for my 8 year old grandson on his own, but it is a project that he and his dad will enjoy together.
Really fun and simple "build" - probably takes about an hour if you let the kid do everything and figure out the instructions. The remote control is OK, you can do a few things and its cute. Comes with all the tools you need and its a nice little project.
But the mBot app is amazing! Included for no extra charge, and it has a free-coding mode and a game/learning mode that progressively teaches about how to build code structures. Coding project cards included. If she keeps at it, I'll be getting some add-on parts to expand the robot.
Great value for the money. I put the app on an old phone and gave the kiddo free reign to learn on her own.

With the mobile phone, the application is downloaded to be able to program the robot. The application is easy and visual.
Since it doesn't come with a programming book on the internet, I found a PDF that helps the child to program.
Want to know if this model has add ons and/or extra components to make it even more versatile.
Easy to assemble. Seems to work well enough. Being complete novices, we found the instructions to be lacking in basic detail. But we spent some time on YouTube and I think we’ve got it running.
Amazing platform to learn robots. Pretty basic but really great implementation.
I bought 2 Mbot Dongle version because for a small price difference I had a higher version.
I already had 5 other robots (1 of them Dongle) and we used them for a secondary school, making it very simple for 1ESO students to use.
With this robot, they start in Robotics, with assembly and programming.
