          AI Makes Learning More Engaging

          By Listening

          Train CyberPi (the main control of mBot2) to distinguish between various cat sounds and categorize them accordingly. With the correct mapping between sounds and meaning, you can figure out what your pet's saying. Click here to open the tutorial.

          By Seeing

          Interact with mBot2 to sing and dance! After completing the programming, you can make mBot2 perform specified actions for unique poses, such as playing specific notes, moving forward, turning around, and more. Click here to open the tutorial.

          By Voice

          If you tell mBot2 "Boring", it'll sing you a song. This personalized experience helps kids understand better how AI interacts and communicates emotionally. With programming, you can 100% customize the voice control. Click here to open the tutorial.

          By Asking

          When you ask mBot2 about the weather, it can quickly answer by searching for information online. This helps kids see how AI robots understand and do what they're asked, and how they get information from the internet to help out (IoT Technology). Click here to open the tutorial.

          By Environment

          When mBot2 senses there is not enough light, it moves to a brighter area to ensure the plant gets plenty of sunlight. This helps kids learn how AI robots use sensors to collect data, analyze it, and make decisions. mBot2 has more built-in sensors to explore.

          By Touching

          When mBot2 tilts over, it calls out for help and tries to escape after detecting a change in angle. This helps kids understand how AI robots sense and respond to the external environment. mBot2 has more built-in sensors to explore.

          Pre-lesson Building Activity

          Depending on the lessons being taught, students will need to build mBot2 into 4 robot forms from beginner to advanced. Each robot form performs some specific tasks, helping students learn how robotics can help with life in today's technology-driven world.

          Students are encouraged to explore how robot parts fit together based on principles, but a series of concrete steps are provided for beginners.

          1. Connect the Bluetooth controller to the robot;
          2. Control the robot to grab Transport cubes;
          3. Move Transport cubes from the Storage Center to the Warehouse Areas.

          Only one Transport cube reaching a Warehouse Area can count for points. Other Transport cubes stacked on top of the Transport cube counting for points can count for additional points.

          One of my favorite projects this summer has been building and programming the Makeblock mBot Neo robot with my daughter. Pretty impressive kit! And you can program it with coding blocks or with Python. What a cool way to introduce kids to coding and robotics.

          I usually have to drag her kicking and screaming to study, now she keeps asking me. The only downside? She keeps asking to borrow my computer!

          Now it's time for back-to-school!

          This week, our students had an incredible experience exploring robotics and coding with the Makeblock mBot2 in collaboration with Ms. Lutzke's summer school class and Ms. Urven's Kindergarten class. The two robots provided by Makeblock allowed our students to engage in hands-on learning and sparked their interest in technology.

          This week i hosted a group of high school students and teachers from 5 Italian colleges for an intensive course on entrepreneurship, AI and Digital skills. Central to our program were the excellent resources Makeblock Education produces. They are the perfect blend of flexibility, accessibility and complexity: easy enough for anyone to engage with, but sophisticated enough to allow a wide range of options even for ambitious learners.
